Wilfred Zaha cast all doubts about his future in a man of the match display in Crystal Palace 2-o defeat of new boys Fulham at Craven cottage. The Ivorian international had been credited with a move to Tottenham or Chelsea but none of the moves materialized.

However, the player speaking to reporters insists that his thoughts are only with Crystal Palace at this point of time. Palace reportedly turned down a fee of £60 million for the ex-United player and are planning to offer their talisman a new deal.

Zaha revealed in the interview that he has put the past behind him and was delighted with the sturdy performance put in by the players. He also singled out his teammates for praise revealing that ladswere able to keep calm and collected despite Fulham mounting pressures on both sides of the pitch.

‘I am with Palace and I don’t have time to think about the speculation.’ ‘It was a difficult game but we stuck by our game plan,’ he added on the opening day win. ‘We knew we couldn’t get impatient, and just had to stay in our shape and take our chances in possession. ‘We are just taking every game as it comes, the main thing is taking our chances because we have pace in our team and we can counter on sides.’

Zaha has been the talisman since his return from a torrid period of his career at Manchester United. Roy Hodgson has been able to tame his wild playing style into a team-oriented approach.

The 25-year-old scored 9 goals making a further 4 assists last season as he helped Palace beat the drop after starting it’s their first five games not scoring and getting any points for the first time in history.
