7 goals in 8 games, Arsenal fans react to Alexis Sanchez goal

Arsenal began their Europa League campaign at home against German side FC Cologne at the Emirates yesterday, they secured a comfortable 3-1 victory against the struggling Bundesliga side. Goals from Sead Kolasinac, Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin in the second half helped the Gunners survive an early scare after Jhon Cordoba 45 yards stunner put the visitors ahead in the ninth minute of the first half.

The Gunners have now made it back-to-back wins for the first time this season having defeated the Cherries at the Emirates last weekend.

Chilean star, Alexis Sanchez started his second game of the season after his failed deadline day move to Manchester City. Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the club all summer and has looked out of sorts in recent games but the game against struggling Cologne provided the perfect opportunity to hit the ground running this season.

The Chilean forward had a quiet first half, but the switch to a 4-3-3 in the second half seems to have favoured the 28-year-old as he was more of a threat going forward in the second half, Kolasinac restored parity for the Gunners in the 48th minute before Sanchez doubled their lead with a curling effort in the 67th minute. Hector Bellerin’s goal in the 81st minute secured a comfortable win the Gunners.

Below is what fans have been saying about Sanchez’s goal on social media platform, twitter:

The 28-year-old made a total of 51 appearances for the Gunners last season, he scored 30 goals and provided 19 assists in all competitions last term. The Gunners have made a mixed start to the season but with Sanchez getting on the scoresheet last night, Arsene Wenger will be so elated his Talisman is back among the goals after scoring for the first time this season.
