Why Alexis Sanchez has not been announced

The most anticipated announcement this transfer window has been that of Alexis Sanchez move from Arsenal to Manchester United with many fans wondering what could be holding up the deal after completing his medical examination at the club training complex Carrington on Sunday.

Well, according to reports from English publication the BBC claim the Chilean striker only need to change his work permit before he can finalize his move to the Theatre of Dreams.

Since it’s a swap deal involving both Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both players need to switch their work permits so they can play for their new respective clubs.

Although, it is believed the Chilean will have to leave Manchester temporarily in other to complete his highly-anticipated move to Old Trafford this winter.

The Chilean will join the 20-time Premier League champions on a four-and-a-half year deal and will reportedly earn a staggering £350,000 per week on wages plus an extra £100,000 on image rights over the course of his contract at the Theatre of Dreams, a figure which will make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.

He is expected to be officially announced today as a Manchester United player provided he gets his work permit done before the end of the day and could make his official debut for the Red Devils away at Yeovil Town in the FA Cup on Friday night.

The 29-year-old is expected to be given the iconic number 7 Jersey worn by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, David Beckham etc and many United faithful will be hoping he can have the same effect like Robin Van Persie in 2013.
