Alvaro Morata tells Conte: This attacking midfielder will help Chelsea

Spanish striker, Alvaro Morata has reportedly urged his former Real Madrid team-mate Marco Asensio to join him at Chelsea this month.

Antonio Conte has not hidden his desire to add to his lean squad in this winter transfer window having watched his side fall 15 points behind Premier League leaders, Manchester City who have only dropped seven points thus far this season.

Despite completing the signing of Ross Barkley from Everton for a reported fee of £15 million earlier this month the Blues have struggled to win games having recorded just one victory in their last six games across all competitions and are still open to making two or three additions to their squad before the window shuts next week.

However, reports from Daily Star understands that out-of-form striker Alvaro Morata has been in touch with highly rated midfielder, Marco Asensio and has urged him to make a switch to Stamford Bridge after finding game time hard to come by at the Spanish capital.

The 22-year-old has developed into one of the deadliest wingers in the La Liga since he joined Real Madrid in 2014 for a reported fee of €3.9 million on a six-year deal from Segunda side, Mallorca but was loaned back to the Spanish outfit for the remainder of the campaign.

After successful loan spells at Mallorca and Espanyol, he was recalled back to the Los Blancos squad two years ago and marked his first competitive debut for the Spanish giants with a goal in a 3-2 win against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup match in August 2016.

The Spanish attacking midfielder has found games hard to come by this season and could be open to a move to the Bridge having featured 25 times across all competition scoring 6 goals and providing three assists.
