Scottish defender Andy Robertson who joined the Reds in the summer in a £10 million deal from English side Hull City is set to hold talks with manager Jurgen Klopp about his future having found games hard to come by since his summer move to Anfield. Although, the Scottish international has cut a frustrated figure since his switch to Merseyside but has been assured by the German tactician he is still in his plans despite his lack of playing time. The former Hull City defender recently admitted his lack of playing time has been a difficult period for him and wants to play more.

Andy Robertson as quoted when asked about his bit part role since his summer switch to Anfield, he said;

“Of course it’s difficult for me,” He also added, “I don’t make any secret of it. I hate not playing.

It’s been a very frustrating three months for me. I was looking forward to the Holland game to, hopefully, get some game time. I’m delighted to have got 90 minutes.

“I was a bit rusty and it probably caught up with me in the last 20 minutes, but that’s something I’ve got to look at. I need to get more game time.”

Spanish defender Alberto Moreno has made life difficult for the former Hull City defender having proved difficult to drop and has made the left-back position his own with impressive performances so far this season. English midfielder James Milner played majorly at left back for the Reds last season after series of poor performances from Alberto Moreno last term but it seems the arrival of Robertson from Hull City in the summer served as a wakeup call to the Spanish defender as he has looked rejuvenated under Jurgen Klopp so far this term.

The 23-year-old has been limited to just three games in all competitions so far this term and will be hoping to get more playing time with the hectic festive schedule fast approaching. The former Hull City defender is a regular starter for his country and with the Scottish international convinced of his qualities, he believes sooner or later he will become a key figure under the German tactician.
