Having completed the signing of Ross Barkley from Everton for a reported fee of £15 million earlier this month, the Blues are still keen on bolstering their attacking options before the window closes next week, with summer signing Alvato Morata struggling massively in front of goal and suffering from a back problem.

The west London club have been linked with host of Premier League strikers over the past few weeks including Andy Carroll, Fernando Llorente, Ashley Barnes and Peter Crouch with Conte keen on easing the goal-scoring burden placed on Spanish striker, Alvaro Morata.

However, the Blues are now focused on bringing back former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko to the Premier League this month as they believe he ticks all the boxes given his proven Premier League experience and will keep out-of-form forward, Alvaro Morata on his toes.

According to reports from SkySports the west London club have agreed a deal with Roma over the sale of the centre forward but the Blues are yet to reach an agreement with Dzeko’s representatives with both parties still haggling over wages and length of his contract.

Despite leaving the Premier League in the summer of 2015 to join Roma for a reported fee of €11 million, the 31-year-old has established himself as one of the top marksman in the Serie A and was in sensational form for the Romans last term having scored 39 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions.
