Announcement imminent, as Chelsea reach agreement with club

Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Serie A side AS Roma over the potential sale of Brazilian defender, Emerson Palmieri.

The west London club have been in the hunt for a left-sided defender since last summer having failed in their pursuit of Juventus defender, Alex Sandro who was deemed too expensive for the Blues with Serie A giants, Juventus refusing to budge on the £80 million price tag placed on the defender.

However, reports from English publication the Daily Mail suggest the Blues have agreed a fee expected to be in the region of £20 million with AS Roma over the sale of Emerson Palmieri.

The 23-year-old joined Roma in the summer of 2015 on-loan from Brazilian side, Santos but his move was made permanent in 2016 for a reported fee of €2 million after series of impressive displays and has grown into one of the finest full-back in the Serie A but he is yet to feature in any game for the Giallarossi so far this term due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered in May 2017.

He is known for his crossing, dribbling, passing, long shots, concentration and defensive contributions.

With the Blues closing in on a deal for Brazilian defender, Emerson Palmieri, the west London club will be hoping to reach a breakthrough in their pursuit of former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko with Conte also keen to bolster his attacking options.

Given his age and abilities, he would be a brilliant addition to the Blues and will serve as a good cover for Spanish defender, Marcos Alonso.
