Antonio Conte drops huge transfer hint on midfield target

Arturo Vidal could reportedly be on his way to Chelsea this January as Antonio Conte has eulogised Bayern Munich  midfielder

Conte recently praised the Chilean and was quoted by the Independent staying ‘Arturo is a fantastic player,’. ‘I have a great respect for Arturo, and we spent many years in Juventus together. I would always want him to go to war with me.’ This was seen as a statement of intent by Conte to recruit the midfielder.

Bayern Munich are thought to want around €53 million for the 30 year-old Chilean which could prove to be the snag in the negotiations with Chelsea.

Conte has repeatedly complained about lack of options in the midfield since the sale of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United  with summer signings Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater doing little to impress when called upon.

Vidal is a significant upgrade to both players and has repeatedly been nominated as one of the top midfielders in Europe for the past 5 years with excellent performances for Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Vidal played under Conte in Juventus with the pair winning three serie A titlesand two Coppa Italia titles together. Vidal is keen to make the transfer to Chelsea as he wants to play in England with a Coach who trusts him.

Arturo Vidal is a complete midfielder who is known for his all action style of play, aerial ability and Tackling ability. The Chilean international signed for German giants Bayern Munich in 2015 for €37 million and has won two Bundesliga titles. Vidal  has played 19 games this season scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.

Vidal would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea if the can pull it off as he is among the elite midfielders in the world, he would bring tenacity and energy to Chelsea’s midfield.

Despite the need for a top class midfielder by Chelsea it is highly doubtful that Bayern would sell this January,  the deal seems more feasible in the summer.
