Antonio Conte keen on signing classy midfielder in January

Premier League champions, Chelsea are reportedly ready to revive their interest in English midfielder, Ross Barkley in the January transfer window.

The Blues were on the verge of securing his services in the summer but the deal for the attacking midfielder fell through on deadline day with reports claiming he wants to sort out a fitness concern before making a decision on his future.

However, reports from English publication the Sun understands Blues boss, Antonio Conte who is keen to bolster his squad ahead of next month transfer window is still interested in signing the midfielder in the winter transfer window.

Although, many would argue the Blues should have waited until the end of the season to sign him with the midfielder set to leave on a free in the summer but reports making the rounds suggests Conte wants to steal a march on London rivals, Tottenham who are also interested in the player but would prefer to wait till the end of the season.

The 24-year-old grew up from the ranks at Everton having joined as an 11-year-old boy but has grown into one of the finest midfielder in the Premier League since he became a regular for the Toffees.

The English international is known for his passing, finishing, dribbling, long shots, creativity, vision and versatility.

He is yet to play for the Merseyside club so far this term due to injury but he will be a quality addition to the Blues if he can reproduce the same level of performance on a consistent basis and can also be a long-term replacement for Cesc Fabregas.
