Antonio Conte’s reply when asked about Andy Carroll to Chelsea

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte is not giving any clue amid speculation linking the Premier League champions with a move for West Ham striker, Andy Carroll this January transfer window.

The Italian has always spoken of his desire to bolster his squad this month after falling 16 points behind runaway Premier League leaders, Manchester City who have only dropped four points so far this term and remain the only unbeaten side in the League.

Reports making the rounds understands the Blues are looking at the possibility of signing a back-up striker to Alvaro Morata this winter transfer window with Antonio Conte ready to allow out-of-favour striker, Michy Batshuayi leave the club this month after failing to impress the former Juventus boss.

Andy Carroll has found games hard to come by at the London Stadium so far this season, with new manager David Moyes opting for the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Chicharito ahead of the former Liverpool striker and could be open to a move to the Bridge having complained of not getting enough playing time.

However, Conte didn’t give out much on a potential move for the 29-year-old striker when asked if the forward is a target for the west London club.

Antonio Conte as quoted on Andy Carroll’s potential move to Chelsea, he said;

“I am very happy to work with my players and I’m very happy with the commitment of my players. He also added,

“The club knows very well the positions we can improve. Now there is a transfer market.

“If there is a possibility to find a good solution to improve the squad I think the club knows very well my opinion.”

The Blues will be hoping to return to winning ways as they entertain Claude Puel’s Leicester City at Stamford Bridge this weekend having drawn all of their last three matches in all competitions.
