Arsenal begin talks to sign £36.8m-rated attacker wanted by Unai Emery

Arsenal have reportedly begun talk with Real Madrid to lure their highly rated but not playing attacker, James Rodriguez to the Emirates stadium.

James Rodriguez is currently on a two year loan with the German champions, Bayern Munich after failing to impress under former Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane.

The loan deal included an option to buy at £36.8 million for Bayern Munich but with the way the player has performed, it doesn’t look like the club are willing to exercise their advantage.

The Colombian hasn’t had the kind of impact he hoped for following the announcement of Nico Kovacas the manager of Bayern last summer. His frustration has heightened as he is no longer a regular starter for the Bavarians with the bench his closest ally.

Arsenal are therefore in talks with the player’s parent club in view of bringing him to England to bolster their offensive play and midfield as he can operate in any of those roles.

However, it is believed that Real Madrid also don’t want him and will instead use him as a make weight to secure the services of Tottenham’s Christens Eriksen.

If Arsenal push for a move for the player and are willing to part with the £36.8 million the player is supposedly worth, they will have a powerful player on their hands.

Although, the Premier league is not very friendly to foreigners so Arsenal should be double sure that Rodriguez will be worth their investment.
