Aaron Ramsey is reportedly  close to reaching an agreement over a new contract deal with Arsenal.

The 27-year old  current contract with the Gunners is due to expire in less than a year but the Club are offering him a new deal to avoid losing him to a free transfer by next summer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are in a difficult situation as they are trying very hard to keep the Wales midfielder before the transfer deadline not forgetting Chelsea’s interest in the player.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to sign Ramsey for £35million and this had given Arsenal the option to choose whether to cash in on the player or extend his contract.

Reports from Daily Telegraph made us know that Arsenal are close in finalising the new deal with Ramsey.

However, Arsenal coach Unai Emery has revealed his intention of keeping Ramsey at Emirates and hopes the Wales international will also want to stay. Emery stressed the importance of Ramsey to the club and the contract and how they agree is the decider of his stay but he would still prefer to see him with the club to bolster the team’s strength.

On the other hand, Chelsea seem to have taken a step back in the pursuit for Ramsey as they are now close in signing Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic.
