Arsenal hoping to reunite Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang

Arsenal are looking at the possibility of reuniting Armenian playmaker, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Gabonese striker, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang this transfer window according to report making the rounds.

The Gunners preparation for life after Manchester United bound Alexis Sanchez has seen the north London club step up chase for Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who has been earmarked as a direct replacement by Arsene Wenger.

Wenger’s pursuit of the Gabonese forward makes perfect sense considering his level of consistency he has shown overtime and will definitely be a fantastic addition to the Gunners squad.

The Chilean striker looks destined to move to the Theatre of Dreams this winter transfer window but reports suggest the Gunners have asked for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in return as a makeweight in the deal.

It is believed the Special One is ready to include the Armenian playmaker as part of the deal that would bring Chilean forward, Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford after failing to replicate his early season form that saw him notch five assists in his first three top flight games.

With his future uncertain at the Theatre of Dreams after being recently left out of Manchester United matchday squad that defeated Stoke City 3-0 on Monday, he might be open to a move to the Emirates provided he will get enough playing time.

The duo of Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan once played together at Borussia Dortmund for few years and both were key players for the German outfit finishing as runners-up in the league and lifting the DFB Pokal in the 2014/15 season at the expense of favorites Bayern Munich.

Although, the 28-year-old is currently suffering from a dip in-form but would be a brilliant addition to the Gunners provided he can rediscover his early season form.
