Arsenal intensifies transfer for prolific forward after Welbeck Injury

Arsenal have made a good start this season under new manager Unai Emery and currently sit just outside the top 4 positions.

According to the Sun, Arsenal are weighing up their options this January as Welbeck’s injury has reduced the number of legs in the attack.

The report also claims that Arsenal are ready to take their interest in Lille star Nicolas Pepe to the next stage by offering a formal bid. Pepe is one of the most coveted players in Europe and is currently in a rich vein of form.

The Ivorian international is reportedly a target for Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Arsenal.

Arsenal are looking to making the 24-year-old their major target in the January transfer window and would need to offer a sizeable bid to snap the player.  A fee of €50 million has been touted by some sources but Lille are yet to reveal their valuation of the attacking midfielder.

Pepe has taken the Ligue 1 by storm this season where has scored eight goals and contributed seven assists in 12 appearances for Lille.
