Arsenal interested in signing Manchester United prospect Dean Henderson

According to reports, Arsenal are currently plotting a free transfer move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson even though the Red Devils are keen on keeping the youngster.

The England U-21 player is currently on loan at Shrewsbury but has one year left of his contract at Manchester United which is due to expire in May next year. He may be looking to explore his chances at other clubs in other to make first team football after a successful loan spell at league one side Shrewsbury where he has registered 11 appearances this season; 10 league one appearances and one at the league cup. He has successfully kept 5 clean sheets within this period.

Although the youngster made his senior debut for Manchester United as an unused substitute in February 2016, the 20-year-old is yet to make a first team appearance since joining from Carlisle at the age of 14. He has gone on loan spells at Stockport County and Grimsby Town before moving to Shrewsbury.

Arsenal are reportedly considering the young prospect as a potential replacement for second choice goalkeeper David Ospina whose future at the club remains uncertain. Though the youngster may be moving as a free agent, Arsenal will still have to pay a fee to Manchester United for the move as rivals in the Premier League.

Benfica are reportedly also interested in securing a move for Henderson should he fail to renew his contract at Manchester United.
