According to latest reports, Arsenal have tabled an offer for Senegalese International Ismailia Sarr ahead of the January transfer window.
Senegalese sports website Wiwsport.com claims that Unai Emery has sanctioned a move for the Stade Rennais winger. According to the report, the Gunners are ready to offer a player plus cash deal involving backup goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
It is believed that a bid involving Martinez and €16million in cash has been offered to the French club for the services of the pacy forward. Yahoo Sport had earlier ran a story which claimed that Martinez was a transfer target for Stade Rennais as they look to replace current no 1 Tomas Koubek, who is expected to leave the club in January.
Arsenal are looking to take advantage of this situation and offer the player as a sweetener to make the deal go through ahead of the second half of the season.
Sarr is currently in the form of his career netting 8 goals in his last seven matches for the French outfit. He also proved instrumental in his side progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League netting twice in the final group game victory against FC Astana.
Blessed with pace and power, Sarr could bring something different to the forward line of the Gunners as Emery seeks to cement a place in the top 4 this season.
