Arsenal poised to agree £35 million fee for wantaway star – report

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of £35 million for French midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.

The French international left the Premier League in the summer of 2015 for Spanish side Sevilla for a fee reported to be in the region of £7 million and was pivotal in the White and Reds Europa League triumph that season.

He was a key player under former manager Jorge Sampaoli but has found game hard to come by under new manager Eduardo Berrizzo after falling out with the coaching staff.

With the uncertainty surrounding his future after Sevilla President, Jose Castro revealed earlier this month N’Zonzi could be sold if his release clause of £40 million is met in the January transfer window.

He looks destined to leave the Ramon Sanchez in the January transfer window and according to reports from English publication Daily Express a transfer fee in the region of £35 million has been agreed for the French midfielder and he is poised for a return to the Premier League in the New Year.

An initial fee of £32.7 million would be paid to Sevilla then another£2.6 million will be paid on bonuses.

The 28-year-old has featured in 14 games for the Red and Whites so far, this season and he is primarily deployed in a defensive midfield role.

He is known for his calmness in possession, passing, ability to shoot from distance, tackling and technical qualities.

The 6 ft 3 midfielder would be a quality addition to the Gunners midfield given his proven Premier League experience having played for Blackburn and Stoke City and would give the team a lot of balance in the midfield
