Arsenal set to hold talks to make £35M winger 6th summer signing

Latest news making the rounds reports that Arsenal have turned their attention to Leverkusen prodigy, Leon Bailey.

According to the Sun, Arsenal are interested in landing the £35 million-rated forward and club officials have contacted Bailey’s representatives over a transfer.

Bailey is one the hottest young prospects in Europe having made his breakthrough season with Leverkusen last campaign. Known for his breathtaking speed and eye for goal, Bailey was involved in 18 goals (12 goals 6 assists) last season for the German side which has led to glances all around Europe.

His performances for club have led to a tug of war between England and Jamaica for his allegiance as he is eligible to play for both nations.

Unai Emery has informed club officials of his wish to add an extra attacker to add pace to the team and Bailey fits the bill. Leverkusen are willing to do business for £35 million which seems like fair value for a player with huge potentials.

Chelsea are also monitoring the player which could make things interesting, but Arsenal remains front-runners to secure his signature.  Bailey would be an exciting prospect for Arsenal though his arrival could be dependent on the sale of some players after a summer spending spree that has resulted in 5 signings already.
