Arsenal target Steven NZonzi close to sealing €25 million move

Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow in the pursuit of French midfielder Steven Nzonzi as reports claim that AS Roma has stolen a match on the player.

Arsenal had been linked to Nzonzi earlier this month with many reports suggesting that Unai Emery was keen on uniting with the Defensive midfielder.

Nzonzi has gone on to become a world-class performer in the midfield after moving to Sevilla in 2015 from Stoke City. His physicality as well as his passing range has endeared him to many as an elite defensive midfielder and ensured he made the French World Cup squad this summer.

Spanish sports outlet, Mundo Deportivo claims that several clubs have entered the race for the 29-year-old including Juventus, Barcelona and AS Roma.

Though Arsenal’s biggest challenge is AS Roma as Italian transfer guru Alessandro Austini revealed today that AS Roma have become favourites to sign the player.

According to Austini Roma sporting director Monchi (formerly of Sevilla) has agreed on a transfer fee of €25 million for the French Star.

Arsenal fans need not be worried because this transfer window has made us to believe that until a player is unveiled by a club then he can still always move elsewhere.

The recent case of Malcolm to Barcelona from Bordeaux despite Roma making an announcement of a transfer for the player is a prime example.

Arsenal fans will have their fingers crossed that a deal for the player can still be reached before an announcement is confirmed.
