Arsenal target submits transfer request amid speculation linking him to the Emirates



Gabonese international, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly handed in a transfer request at Borussia Dortmund in other to fast-track his move to the Emirates this month.

The Gabonese striker has been earmarked as a direct replacement for wantaway forward, Alexis Sanchez who is reportedly close to a move to rivals Manchester United this January transfer window.

Premier League leaders, Manchester City were front-runners for his signature having agreed a deal verbally with the striker last summer but decided to pull the plug on any potential deal for the Chilean on Monday with reports claiming the Citizens opted out because they feel the deal is too expensive and his wages could upset some key players in the squad.

However, reports from German publication Bild understand that Aubameyang has handed in a transfer request at the Signal Iduna Park after falling out with key members of the coaching staff and he is keen to force a move to Emirates this month.

His antics off the field has left the Borussia Dortmund hierarchy frustrated and could be open to selling their most prized asset this month with reports suggesting he could he available for a fee in the region of €60 million.

He was left out of the goalless draw against Wolfsburg on Sunday after he missed an important team meeting.

The last season Bundesliga top scorer is one of the deadliest strikers in the world and would be a perfect replacement for Manchester United bound Alexis Sanchez given his level of consistency over the past few years.

The 28-year-old has featured in 23 games across all competitions for the German outfit scoring 21 times and providing three assists.
