Bid tabled: Arsenal to agree £30m deal for Calum Chambers’ replacement

Unai Emery move for Ricardo Rodriguez is one of the trending news in the past few days with reports claiming that the Gunners have tabled a bid for the left-back. Arsenal are currently faced with a left-back crisis with club regulars Kolasinac and Monreal out with injuries.

This has made the club look for a replacement and Rodriguez is seen as a perfect fit for the position though Milan wants a good fee to release the Swiss international.

Arsenal begins their premier league campaign with a doubleheader against two of the top 6 in Manchester City and Chelsea. Maitland-Niles is the only player capable of playing that position but Arsenal fans would be wary of Sane and Willian facing the young defender.

Rodriguez is a good left back and at the age of 25 is yet to reach his peak and represents a good resale value. Arsenal value the defender at £30 million but Milan apparently want £5 million extra for the former Wolfsburg fullback.

Emery likes Rodriguez style of play and the defender gives the club a good option as he is an excellent set piece taker.

Arsenal have been busy restructuring the club letting out 4 high profile departures and bringing In 5 signings as they prepare for the season.

Arsenal face champions Manchester City this weekend at the Emirates in the curtain raiser for the club.
