Manchester United are reportedly winning the race to sign OGC Nice midfielder, Jean Michael Seri ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford in the summer.

The Ivorian midfielder was on the verge of joining La Liga leaders, Barcelona last summer but the deal failed to materialize as the Spanish giants pulled the plug on any potential deal having signed Brazilian midfielder, Paulinho from Chinese side, Guangzhou Evergrande.

However, the Mirror claims the Ivorian international could be the subject of a four-way transfer battle between Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool who are also keeping tabs on the midfielder ahead of a potential summer move.

The Nice midfielder has a buy-out clause of £35 million and currently has 18 months left on his existing contract with the French outfit.

Although, it is believed the former Porto midfielder is keen on a move to the Premier League and Manchester United are believed to be favorites to land the Ivorian in the summer with Jose Mourinho keen on bringing in a replacement for club captain, Michael Carrick who is set to retire at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has grown into one of the best midfielders in the French League since he secured a move to French side, Nice from Portuguese club, Pacos de Ferreira for a reported fee of €1 million in the summer of 2015.

He is often deployed as a central midfielder and he is known for his excellent passing abilities, flair, long shots, dribbling, creativity, vision and also a set-piece specialist.

The former Pacos de Ferreira midfielder has featured in 25 games for OG Nice across all competitions scoring once and providing four assists.

Given his age and the level of consistency he has displayed over the past few years, he could be a long-term replacement for aging and soon to retire Michael Carrick.
