There appears to be a three way battle for the signature of Lazio midfield ace Sergej Milinkovic-savic as Chelsea have joined the race for the player. Milinkovic-Savic is one of Europe’s top talent and latest reports from Italy claims that Chelsea are illing to offer a club record £115 million for the 23 year old.

According to the reports Spanish lynchpin Cesc Fabregas is also part of the deal that will see him move to the opposite direction.

Manchester United and Real Madrid were interested in the player before Chelsea came knocking with this latest developments. Milinkovic-Savic has been exceptional in the past two seasons with Lazio notching up 27 goals during this period which is a stark contrast of 8 goals scored by Fabregas during this period for Chelsea.

He (Milinkovic-Savic) is also capable of playing in a midfield three favoured by Sarri as his athletic and cultured technique makes him a perfect foil for Jorginho and Kante.

Another factor in Chelsea’s favour is that the Serbia international is managed by one time Blue Mateja Kezman and could prove vital in swaying the 23 year old to Stamford Bridge.

Transfer stories like this should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is hard to see Chelsea breaking the premier league transfer record for a player yet to prove himself on a big stage.
