Juventus Star Gonzalo Higuain could be unveiled as Chelsea second summer signing this Wednesday.

According to reports from Italian tabloid Tuttosport, Chelsea chiefs have been in touch with Juventus ahead of a potential transfer for the 30-year-old. The report claims that the Blues have tabled a bid worth £53 million for the Argentine hitman.

Sarri is reportedly keen to reunite with Higuain as the striker had a fruitful spell during his time at Napoli.

Juventus are open to offers for the forward as the club seeks to recoup funds following the transfer of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. According to reports from Italy, the signing of Ronaldo paves way for Higuain to end his two-year association with the Turin Giants.

Higuain would also get a significant raise in wages as he seeks a final big contract at the age of 30. The deal could be all wrapped up by Wednesday if both parties can finalise an agreement.

Higuain enjoyed his most prolific season under Sarri during the 2016/2016 campaign. The Argentine broke the Serie A goals record scoring 36 league goals winning the Capocannoniere title for the highest goal scorer.

The Argentine has spent two trophy-laden seasons in Turin winning consecutive League and cup doubles after moving from Napoli and would be a world-class signing for the Blues.
