Serbian forward Luka Jovic is the toast of the Bundesliga as he currently leads the top scorer chart ahead of Robert Lewandowski and Marco Reus. The 21-year-old has been impressive this season alongside teammate Ante Rebic and Sebastian Haller.
His hot streak has seen several teams line up for his signature with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea linked to the forward in recent weeks. Jovic is currently on a 2-year loan deal at the German side and the club are looking to make the move permanent in the summer.
Frankfurt reportedly values the striker within the region of £52 million which is above the valuation most clubs interested in his signature. Chelsea are believed to be considering a bid of around £31 million for the forward. However, they face a stiff challenge from Barcelona who appear to be the favourite for the forward.
The Catalan outfit are looking for a long-term replacement for star forward Luis Suarez and have identified Jovic as a perfect fit with the club’s ideology.
Chelsea currently have Gonzalo Higuain as the first choice forward, but it is understood that his future at the club is tied to that of Maurizio Sarri. The Italian tactician has been under pressure due to the poor run of results experienced by the club.
Jovic is viewed by the club as a long-term solution for the club and it looks like in the summer a bidding war could happen for his signature.
