Chelsea plotting a fresh January transfer bid for Alex Sandro

Recent reports in the media have it that Chelsea are plotting a new and improved bid to sign Juventus Left wing-back Alex Sandro in January.

The Blues had earlier failed to land the wing-back in the summer because Juventus were adamant to sell him but the English side are now keen to land him with an improved offer estimated at £70 million which is expected to seduce the Seria A giants to release the player who has until 2020 in his contract.

This move is seen as an attempt by the Chelsea board to prove their commitment towards the success of their manager Antonio Conte after failing to secure a move for some of his desired players like Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain during the summer transfer window.

It is supposedly meant to appease the disgruntled Italian tactician who refused to extend his contract with the blues during the summer but rather opted for a pay-rise. AC Milan are also reportedly interested in hiring the services of Antonio Conte should he decide to leave Chelsea.

The defending English Premier League Champions are hoping to improve their squad depth with the signing of the Brazilian despite having Marcus Alonso manning the left wing-back position for them. His signing will provide better options for the manager as well as a strong competition by both players to secure that position.

The 26-year-old Brazilian joined Juventus from Porto in 2015, he can play as a left wing – bank and a wide midfielder. His style of play will be better suited for Conte’s 3-4 -3 formation.
