Chelsea ready to use Michy Batshuayi in a makeweight deal for Thomas Lemar

Premier League champions, Chelsea are reportedly interested in Monaco star, Thomas Lemar in the January transfer window and could be ready to include Belgian forward, Michy Batshuayi in a deal that will see the Belgian join the French Champions on loan while Thomas Lemar moves in the opposite direction.

The Belgian striker has played more of a substitute role since joining the Blues last summer from French side, Marseille for a reported fee of £33 million.

The former Marseille striker has found it difficult to earn the trust of Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte and was an unused substitute in the Blues 3-1 win away at newly promoted side Huddersfield despite the absence of Spanish striker, Alvaro Morata who was out injured with a back injury.

The Belgian forward was linked with a move to Monaco in the summer but the move failed to materialize after the Blues failed to sign Fernando Llorente who opted to sign for Tottenham instead.

However, the 24-year-old might be open to a return to France if he can be guaranteed enough playing time in a bid to earn a starting berth under Roberto Martinez ahead of next summer World Cup in Russia.

With Conte ready to bolster his attacking options in the winter transfer window, French forward, Thomas Lemar makes perfect sense for the Blues due to his versatility and creativity.

The Frenchman can play anywhere in attack behind the striker and can also be deployed in a false nine role.
