Chelsea representatives jet into Milan to make transfer offer today

Chelsea have been linked with so many players these past few days, but it seems a deal with Milan for goalkeeper Pepe Reina could be confirmed this week.

Reports from Italian outlet Tuttosport says that the Blues are expected to submit a bid for the 35-year-old stopper today.

Reina has emerged as a surprise transfer target for the Blues, with club insiders revealing that the transfer was requested by club boss Maurizio Sarri. Milan are expected to sell the player for around £8 million which would be a decent profit for the Goalkeeper who arrived on a free transfer this summer.

Reina would be expected to be the direct replacement for current number one Thibaut Courtois who is rumoured to be on his way to Madrid.

Chelsea officials are expected in Italy today ahead of an official bid for the veteran goalie. Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in several Serie A players as Sarri shapes the team ahead of next season. Chelsea are believed to be close to sealing a deal for Juventus trio of Danielle Rugani, Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic in a transfer swoop worth £170 million.

Pepe Reina has a good working relationship with Maurizio Sarri having played under the Italian during his stint in Napoli. Chelsea are also close to signing Rob Green as a backup option in the Goalkeeping position.
