Chelsea secure signing of Ross Barkley

Premier League champions, Chelsea have signed Everton midfielder, Ross Barkley after weeks of intensive speculations.

The English midfielder was heavily linked with a move to the Bridge in the last summer but the deal failed to materialise with the midfielder deciding to opt out of any potential deal on deadline day with reports claiming he wanted to sort out his fitness issues before making a switch to the Blues.

However, report from trusted English source, BBC suggests that the Blues have stolen a march on London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur who were also keen on signing the midfielder.  The English international contract at the Goodison Park expires at the end of the season, hence  the decision to let him go for a cut-price fee worth £15 million.

Despite not been able to play a single game for the Toffees so far this season due to a serious hamstring injury, he is reportedly close to full fitness.

He has grown into one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League since he became a regular for the Toffees but there are still question marks over his level of consistency.

The 24-year-old is known for his flair, dribbling, long shots, finishing, passing, creativity, vision and playing long balls.

Given his age and quality, he will be a good addition to the Blues and could be a long-term replacement for Spanish maestro, Cesc Fabregas.
