Chelsea set to replace Michael Emenalo with former Monaco chief



Premier League champions Chelsea were rocked by the news of Ex-Nigerian international Michael Emenalo who resigned from his role at the club as Technical Director after a decade of service at the Bridge. The 52-year-old is one of Roman Abrahamovic’s most trusted staff and he is highly regarded at the club, he has brought in a host of talented youngsters since he was appointed as the Technical Director in 2011.

His resume’ of spotting special talents across Europe makes him one of the best in the world having brought in the likes of Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Kevin De Bruyne, Oscar, David Luiz, Gary Cahill etc. His departure has left a big void at Chelsea and the Blues are reportedly targeting former Monaco Chief Luis Campos as the Blues new technical director according to report from English publication the Sun.

The Portuguese record at Monaco speaks for itself and makes him a perfect replacement for Ex-Nigerian international having brought in the likes of James Rodriguez, Joao Moutinho, Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar, Anthony Martial, Benjamin Mendy, Luis Fabinho, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Kylian Mbappe etc.

The 53-year-old is currently at French side Lille after leaving the Stade Louis II last year, but according to reports making the rounds, he his open to the possibility of becoming the Blues new Technical director. The bulk of the players he brought in played a major role as the Red and Whites stunned favorites Paris Saint Germain to win their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years last season. Luis Campos doesn’t spot talents alone but he also generate profits for the club, the few years he spent at the Stade Louis II has generated a staggering £318.4million in revenue after majority of the players he brought in were sold.
