Chelsea want to sign prolific striker to replace Alvaro Morata – not Higuain

Chelsea have been linked in the past few months to several strikers as Maurizio Sarri seeks to add more firepower to the squad.

According to latest reports from England the FA Cup champions could make a surprise swoop for Sevilla forward Andre Silva.

The Sun reports that Chelsea are preparing to swoop in for the Portuguese forward currently on loan from Italian side AC Milan. The report also claims that the Sevilla are not ready to sanction a deal without signing a replacement. Alvaro Morata has been linked to the Spanish side in the past few weeks and could be used in a swap deal.

Morata has failed to sparkle since his big-money move from Real Madrid last season and it appears likely that he would leave in January. Silva has rejuvenated his career at Sevilla after failing to impress at Milan last season. The 21-year-old has developed an excellent partnership with Wissam ben Yedder in the attack.

Silva known for his pace and finishing ability could be a temporary fix for the Blues attack lacking a focal point this season. Chelsea are currently 3 points off Arsenal and 6 points ahead of Manchester United in the fight for 4th place.
