Club chief names price for Chelsea midfield target, £20m sees deal done

According to reports emanating from England, Ligue 1 Side Lille have named their asking price for Jean-Micheal Seri after lowering their valuation for him.

The Ivorian midfielder, who has won 21 caps and is nicknamed ”Galla’ in his native Ivory Coast due to comparisons with former Monaco And Paris Saint Germain Midfielder Marcelo Gallardo, has been linked with a switch to the Premier league with Chelsea and Liverpool expressing their desires to lure him to England.

Lille initially demanded that his £30 million valuation be met for the Ivorian but have now reluctantly lowered their value to around £20m, sparking rumours that he might be allowed to move from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy during the January transfer window.

The Central Midfielder who is earning rave reviews after scoring 11 goals in 92 appearances since his switch from Portuguese side Paços de Ferreira in 2015, enters the final year of his contract and could leave on a free if the club’s valuation is not met, Arsenal, Manchester city, Barcelona, Liverpool and a host of other top clubs are reportedly keeping tabs with the situation and any of them could make a bid when encouraged.

The 26 year old almost sealed a deal with Barcelona last summer but the two clubs were unable to come to an agreement over the fee, reports then claiming Raul Sanllehi resigned his job at Barcelona due to the club’s role in failing to seal Seri’s signature.
