Confirmed: Defender reveals why he completed Liverpool transfer

Former Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan confirms that his move away from Liverpool was facilitated after he sought the opinion of other teammates.

The 32-year old defender who moved from Augsburg to Liverpool in 2016 on a two-year loan deal making a total of 53 appearances has exited Anfield after completing his move to Serie A side yesterday night for a reported fee of £2million.

Speaking with Sky Sport Italia, Klavan revealed that Darijo Srna, Alisson Becker and Lucas Leiva put in a good word for the Serie A side as they were certain it’s a good place to be.

In Klavan’s words, “Darijo Srna advised me to come here, as I talked to him via Dejan Lovren. Other teammates like Alisson, Mohamed Salah and Lucas Leiva all spoke highly of Serie A’.

Klavan also indicated that other clubs were interested in him but the Italian club was ahead in the race to get him signed. He furthermore expressed confidence in himself as he is certain he will perform well with his new team.

With a new environment for Klavan and the confidence he has in himself, more feature in games is expected and a better performance compared to his time in Liverpool where he struggled to get featured in a very competitive squad.
