Deal Close: Chelsea contact attacker’s club, Antonio Conte likes him

Premier League champions, Chelsea have reportedly contacted Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich for a potential winter move for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal according to report from Goal.

Antonio Conte is believed to be a keen admirer of the Chilean with the pair having worked together at Juventus.

The Chilean international currently has 18 months left on his existing contract at the Allianz Arena and could be sold for the right price if the Blues submit an irresistible offer for the defensive midfielder.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte recently fuelled speculation linking the Chilean to the Bridge having described Arturo Vidal as a warrior and a fantastic player in a recent interview when quizzed about the player.

However, the defensive midfielder could be tempted with a reunion with his former manager and the chance to play in the Premier League with the Bavarians yet to open talks of a new contract with the Chilean.

The Chilean midfielder has been key and also a regular starter for the Bavarians so far this season.

He has featured in 23 games for the Bundesliga leaders across all competitions scoring five times and providing 2 assists.

The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is often deployed as a defensive midfielder but can also be deployed in an attacking midfield role.

The 30-year-old is known for his tackling, passing, long shots, versatility, winning aerial duels, crossing, finishing and defensive contribution.

With summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko failing to replace Nemanja Matic, he could be the perfect partner for French midfielder N’golo Kante in the middle of the park.
