Done deal? Arsenal agree shock deal to sign PSG star

Arsenal are set to make a sensational signing of PSG prodigy Christopher Nkunku according to reports. According to French tabloid L’Equipe, Arsenal have agreed on a deal that would see Nkunku join the club on a season-loan deal with an option to buy.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is familiar with Nkunku, having managed him during his stint at PSG and has sanctioned a transfer for the player. The 21-year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for Aaron Ramsey who is expected to leave for Juventus at the end of the season.

The report also claims that PSG are unwilling to sanction the transfer without bringing in midfield reinforcement. The French clubs is currently suffering from an injury crisis and are looking to bring in reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.

Nkunku has struggled for playing time under Thomas Tuchel and has made just 13 appearances in the league this season. The French u21 international is a box-to-box midfielder known for his high-intensity game which is favoured by Emery.

Nkunku would have heard a lot about Arsenal as he and Matteo Guendouzi play together in the French u21 squad. Arsenal are also in negotiations with Barcelona ace Denis Suarez as the club seeks to make a push towards the top 4.
