Chelsea are reported to have agreed on a deal to sell out-of-favour defender Gary Cahill to Fulham. Cahill has fallen down the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri and has made cameo appearances in the Cup competitions this season.
Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri is keen to shore up the defence which has conceded the most goals in the Premier League. Cahill has been identified as the ideal player to stabilize the backline but the England international is unsure about making a move to the Premier League strugglers.
The 33-year-old is not convinced that a move to Fulham is the right move for him and Ranieri is trying to sway the defender to make a move. Fulham have approached Chelsea and negotiated a transfer fee for the former Bolton man.

The Blues are looking to move his wages off their books ahead of moves for Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes and Gonzalo Higuain. Sarri feels adequately covered in the centre-back position with the likes of David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen ahead of the Englishman.
It remains to be seen if Cahill takes up the offer as there are rumours that he is considering a move to money-laden Chinese Super League. The tough-tackling defender joined from Bolton in 2102 and has made 191 appearances for the Blues.
