Done Deal: Goalkeeper agrees to Arsenal transfer

Arsenal summer clearout continues as youth goalkeeper Ryan Huddart has left the club for Boreham Wood. The young stopper was among the 9 players on the release list announced by the Gunners in May and has announced been snapped by Boreham Wood.

Ryan Huddart transfer looks as though he remains at Arsenal since Boreham Wood are located not far from the Emirates. Arsenal u23 side play many of their games at Boreham Wood’s Meadow park and Huddart would have no problem adjusting to his new surroundings.

Huddart had been part of the Gunners youth set up featuring for the club at u18, u19 and u23 level making 23 appearances in total. He also had a loan stint with Eastleigh in the 2016/2017 season where he made just 7 appearances. Towards the tail end of last summer, Arsene Wenger had identified the stopper as surplus to requirements and new coach Unai Emery apparently does not view the player highly.

Huddart in an interview after the move could not hide his delight in the move admitting that he can’t wait to begin his stint with Boreham Wood.

“I feel very comfortable in my surroundings, which means that I can start quickly.”

Arsenal fans would be disappointed in seeing the youngster leave but would be hopeful that he can use Boreham Wood as a platform to kick-start his professional career. Arsenal are currently on a pre-season tour of Asia and defeated PSG today by 5-1 as part of the ICC competition.
