Liverpool have reportedly completed their first winter signing of 16-year-old Billy Koumetio from US Orleans.

The former Lyon player who is a real player, well-surrounded and very talented and highly regarded will join Liverpool following a successful trial with the club prior.

The table toppers have been hit with injuries to their key defenders with the likes of Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren and Trent Alexander-Arnold all sidelined.

The challenge worsened with James Milner deputising for the aforementioned Arnold receiving a red card in the win against Crystal Palace last week.

The manager has been unwilling to sign any senior player claiming that he has the squad capable of overcoming even with the injury crisis.

In a recent interview club had this to say when quizzed if he will enter the transfer market considering the injury crises his side is facing

‘We have to use the resources we have already and that is what we try.

‘It is a really difficult problem. I can imagine what people think about this situation but you have to make decisions in moments when decisions are on the table. That’s why Clyney is not here anymore.

‘In that moment we had plenty of options and now we don’t have them. That’s how it is in our next games. Trent got an injury and it’s serious but not that serious.

‘He will be back early but I don’t know if early enough for the next game. Maybe the game after. Everyone gives me the feeling, Trent as well, that that is absolutely possible.

‘We have to come through this situation. Tell me a player who can play right back and other positions as well better than our boys like Rafa [Camacho] can do?’

Liverpool boss will have to look for a solution fast as injury to any of Van Dijk or Andy Robertson will be unimaginably bad for their Premier league success.
