The transfer window is five days in and Liverpool have seen major activities in terms of players departure. The club revealed the transfer of forward Dominic Solanke for a reported fee of £19 million.

Solanke had been rumoured to be close to a transfer away from the Reds, with the likes of Brighton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth said to be in the running for the player. Bournemouth won the race for his signature stumping out a good fee for the 21-year-old.

Solanke joined the Anfield outfit on a free transfer from Chelsea in 2017 and made 28 appearances for the Reds netting one goal.

The striker who claimed the Best Player at the U20 World Cup in 2017 is looking to rejuvenate his career at the South Coast.

Another player that made a move to Bournemouth from Liverpool is right-back, Nathaniel Clyne. The 27-year-old defender has joined the Cherries on loan until the end of the season.

Clyne had lost his place in the squad following a long-term knee injury and has struggled to recapture the form that saw him rated among the best defenders some few seasons past.

It will be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp makes a foray into the transfer market after the departure of two first-team players.
