Done deal: Liverpool confirm signing of reliable defender

Liverpool ladies have confirmed the signing of Rhiannon Roberts from Doncaster Rovers Belles for an undisclosed fee.

The commitment of the new Liverpool ladies manager has continued to show in his recruitment of players for next season.

The ladies finished in sixth position, 14 points behind the Women Super League Champions, Chelsea.

A position the new manager has been recruiting new faces to improve on by the end of next season.

Midfielder Jasmine Matthews was brought in from Bristol City, defender Leighanne Robe from Millwall and Yana Daniels from Belgium side Anderlecht.

Most recent recruitment Rhiannon Robert is a 26-year-old defender. She played for Doncaster Rovers Belle that won the division two Women Super League.

She began her professional career with Blackburn Rovers Ladies back in 2009, before she then joined Doncaster in 2013 and contributed enormously to their success from central defence.

She has switched to Liverpool Ladies because of the project the present coach is overseeing. Besides working prior with the current Liverpool coach, the offer the club presented was too tempting to be rejected.

The recruitment of the tall, fit lady was down mainly to her experience in the central midfield position.

The fans will hope that this signing will be a success by helping them win the Ladies Super League next season.
