Done deal: Maurizio Sarri has done it again, seals surprise deadline day deal

Kepa Arrizabalaga has made headlines in the last 48 hours after news about his record move to Chelsea from Bilbao. News reports from reputable Spanish outlets Marca and Mundo Deportivo ha carried separate accounts about the impending move.

Marca had claimed that Kepa lawyers and his agent had made the full payment of his release clause thought to be €80 million on behalf of Chelsea. The 23-year-old is reportedly in Madrid and ready to sort out details before flying into London to complete medicals. Kepa signing paves the way for the biggest goalkeeping transfer window.

Brazillian ace Allison had earlier made a record switch of £62 million to Liverpool breaking the previous record of £32 million made by Ederson last season in his move to Manchester City. Kepa’s move to Chelsea would break the record by £8 million and see Courtois make his long-awaited move to Real Madrid.

Chelsea can move on from Courtois saga with this transfer as Kepa is hailed by many as the next best thing since the breakout of Spanish legend Iker Casillas. The 23-year-old has made 190 senior appearances in his young career and would seal the biggest move in his career to London.

Chelsea are close to bringing in at least two players with the Sun claiming that a move for Kovacic and Naby Fekir are close to fruition.
