Done deal: medical scheduled, Chelsea agree €45m deal to seal mega signing

There is reportedly been a breakthrough in Chelsea loan pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain after interest in the player was made known.

The Blues have been told to foot half of the wage bill AC Milan paid to secure the striker on loan from Juventus. €18 million was paid to Juventus so Chelsea will pay €9 million to loan the Argentine for six months.

If the loan deal is successful, Chelsea have the option to sign the former Real Madrid man on a permanent basis for €36 million.

It looks like an outlandish deal for a 31-year-old but desperate times calls for desperate measures, a situation Chelsea is in currently.

The Blues forward line is completely bare with Alvaro Morata and Oliver Giroud not bringing anything to the table whatsoever.

As a result, Eden Hazard has been made to play out of position as a ‘false 9’ and he looks uncomfortable playing there given that his favourite position is on the wings or as a No. 10.

Recently, as if to amplify the need for a striker, they were beaten by Arsenal who have been stuttering in the league as well.

In the process, the Gunners kept a clean sheet thereby blowing to smithereens the battle for the final spot of the Champions League with Manchester United winning against Brighton and Hove Albion.

So whatever it takes to secure the services of an established striker won’t be frowned at as the club is in dire need of one.

Otherwise, this campaign will be declared a disaster and Sarri’s job under imminent threat.
