Done deal: South-American star completes Arsenal transfer

The president of Napoli Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that talks for Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is still ongoing.

Napoli also hope to clinch Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet as the player is part of the club’s options to be considered.

The Serie A club happens to be in need of a goalkeeper following the injury sustained by their new signing Alex Meret during training last month.

Meanwhile, Ospina appears to have fallen down pecking order at Emirate as he now fits as a third choice after the signing of Bernd Leno to the club.

During the chat De Laurentiis had with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the
President made it known that there are four players up for consideration; Ochoa, Mignolet, Ospina and Tatarusanu, he also stressed that the 29-year old goalkeeper could possibly arrive as negotiations are still on and there happens to be differences on requests made.

Simon Mignolet appears to have also fallen down pecking order similarly to the case of Ospina as he is also a third option at Napoli after the signing of Alisson Becker by Liverpool.

However, the Italian transfer window will be closing for their new season that begins on August 17 7pm UK time and it is hoped Napoli finalised the deal with Arsenal before the transfer deadline.
