Done Deal: Versatile star all smiles as he completes Chelsea transfer

Brazilian international, Kenedy has officially joined Newcastle on loan from Chelsea till the end of the season.

The Brazilian defender was allowed to complete his switch to the St. James’ Park on Monday with the Blues closing in on a move for Roma defender, Emerson Palmieri who is expected to serve as a cover for Spanish defender, Marcos Alonso.

It is believed the Blues already reached an agreement with the Magpies last summer over a potential loan move for Kenedy to the St. James’ Park this winter transfer window once a replacement is signed before the window shuts this month.

The Brazilian international has found game hard to come by this season having been used mainly in cup competitions and has featured just 5 times for the Blues in all competitions scoring once and would be hoping to get enough first team football at the St. James’ Park.

Brazilian defender, Kenedy as quoted after completing his move to Newcastle, he said;

“I’m so happy with this opportunity at Newcastle. They’ve opened the door to me to come here, show my potential and come and play for Newcastle,” he said.

“It’s a traditional club and Rafa Benítez is a fantastic, amazing coach. Christian Atsu, as well – we trained together at Chelsea and know each other, and he said good things about the club. So it was easy to take this decision.”

The 21-year-old may have to wait for his official debut for the Magpies till next week against Burnley as he is not allowed to play against his parent club Chelsea in the FA cup fourth round fixture on Sunday.
