Real Madrid have reached an agreement reported to be   €35m fee which will see Kovacic spend a year on loan in London. This was announced by the Blues on the clubs website.

Real Madrid also confirmed the deal, revealing that Courtois has  signed a contract that  keeps him in Madrid until 2023-24 season.

Courtois made a  total of 154 appearances for Chelsea, winning the Premier League tiltle twice.

He also won the Spanish League during his time with Atletico Madrid during the 2013/2014 season and would challenge Keylor Navas for the number one spot.

Kovacic would become the fourth signing for Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri and bolster the Blues midfield this season.
