Despite not being at full strength with the Blues missing key players such as Alvaro Morata, Pedro Rodriguez, Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas and Thibaut Courtois due to suspensions and injuries, the Premier League champions ended their run of five draws across all competitions in style by returning to winning ways having put four past a struggling Brighton & Hove Albion side at the Amex Stadium.
Goals from Eden Hazard, Willian and Victor Moses secured a comfortable 4-0 win for the visitors away at the Amex Stadium.
For a side struggling massively in front of goal having scored just thrice in the last five matches in all competitions, the game couldn’t have started any better for the champions when Eden Hazard put the Blues ahead in the 3rd minute after connecting well to a fantastic cross from Victor Moses while a wonderful team goal from Willian in the 6th minute added to the visitor’s lead after a brilliant pass from Michi Batshuayi.
However, a brilliant solo goal from Eden Hazard in the 77th minute gave the Belgian his second of the day while a goal from Victor Moses in the 89th minute secured a comfortable victory for the Blues having connected well to a sublime pass from substitute Charly Musonda.
