Ed Woodward plotting three signings for Manchester United – report

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing additions in key areas ahead of the summer transfer window. According to reports from England, the Red Devils are looking to strengthen at least three major positions in the summer.

Manchester Evening News claims that United are looking to bring in a fullback to replace Antonio Valencia, while a new centre-back and a striker are expected to arrive in the summer. Several names have been linked to United in the past few days.

The club is expected to submit a bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer as they look to shore up the back. Koulibaly is expected to cost within the region of £80-90 million according to reports from Italy. Fullbacks Alex Sandro and Elseid Hysaj have also been linked to Old Trafford and a transfer could be on the cards in the summer.

Sandro would be signed as competition for Luke Shaw on the left side of the defence while Hysaj would compete with Diogo Dalot at right back.

Upfront the form of Marcus Rashford in the number 9 position under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer indicates that would be his position from next season. While Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial could fill in the position. PSV forward Steven Bergwijn has been linked to the club and a bid could be made in January to sign the 21-year-old forward.

United next face Brighton at home on Saturday as they seek to close the gap on the top 4 places to 3 points ahead of the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea on Sunday.
