Eden Hazard injury update

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte recently revealed in a press conference that the blues winger, Eden Hazard is closing in on 100% fitness but there’s need to exercise patience.

The Italian tactician is convinced that the Belgian, Eden Hazard will make the team selection on Sunday in the match against Arsenal but couldn’t give his assurance as to whether he will start.

Eden Hazard who is yet to start a match for Chelsea this season as a result of a fractured ankle injury he sustained on international duty in June, as only played in 2 matches so far where he came on as a substitute in last week’s game against Leicester city which saw him play for 12 minutes, also, he came on from the bench to replace Pedro on Tuesday against Quarabag.

The Chelsea boss will probably be looking to explore his options with players like Pedro and Willian who have played quite well for the blues so far.

When asked about Hazard in his pre-match press conference, Mourinho said:

“Eden, for sure he’s improving and I think he has to have this kind of passion with him is paying off.

“He’s very close, he’s very close to be totally fit and we have to continue in this way and don’t forget I have to make decision for the team, for the players.

“But I think he’s improving a lot and he’s very close to being 100% fit,” he added

Chelsea will be hoping to defeat Arsenal in a bid to close the gap between themselves and the Manchester clubs at the summit of the table. The Gunners are considered the underdogs in this fixtures but they could cause some upset, as they ousted Chelsea to win the FA Cup last season and also recorded won the Charity Shield via penalties going into the new season.
