Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard has jokingly said he will stay at Stamford Bridge beyond next season if and only if German defender Antonio Rudiger can repeat his wonderful performance against Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

The attacking midfielder marked his 300th appearance for Blues in the best way possible having scored the only goal in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge in 2012, the only domestic cup Eden Hazard has failed to win with the Blues is the FA Cup, but that’s a thing of the past now as his goal ensured the Blues didn’t end the season trophyless despite enduring an underwhelming campaign this term.

However, with the 2017/18 FA Cup winners set to miss out on next season Champions League after finishing fifth on the log this season, the uncertainty surrounding the future of the 27-year-old has refused to go away.

Eden Hazard speaking to BT Sport about his future after the match, he said:

“Now, we just need to focus, we have the World Cup, we have some holiday.

“We don’t talk about next season now, we talk about the World Cup and holiday.” He also added.

“I want Antonio Rudiger to play like this every game, and then I’ll stay, I promise I’ll stay. Because I want to play with him!”

Eden Hazard’s importance to the Blues can’t be overstated and with his contract set to expire in 2020, Chelsea tying down the attacking midfielder on a new deal is imperative with Real Madrid still in the hunt for the Belgian attacker.

He has featured in 49 games for Chelsea across all competitions scoring 17 times and providing 7 asssists.
