Emery confirms Attacker will agree deal with Arsenal



Arsenal’s head coach Unai Emery is hopeful that Nigerian footballer Alex Iwobi will sign a new deal with the club.

Alex Iwobi joined Arsenal at the age of six and in October 2015, he made his first-team appearance for the club, he can be said to have made a name for himself in Arsenal as the titles won during his time in the club are FA Cup 2016-17 and FA Community Shield 2015 and 2017 respectively.

Iwobi, who recently returned from his World Cup break, appears to be in the favourite list of Emery as the Spanish coach has expressed high hopes of keeping him at Emirates.

Recently, it was rumoured that the 22-year old could possibly be on his way out of Emirates as he was linked with a transfer to Lazio for a speculated fee of £22.5million.

“I have the information, he is near,” Emery confirmed. “Mesut, Elneny and Iwobi are working with us – my first impression is very good.

“My information is he will sign to stay with us.”

Iwobi’s football career will have to continue with Arsenal as a new deal that will increase his wages to £70,000 a week is said to be offered to the young star.

Head coach Unai Emery can be said to have shown that he is ready for the new season as he has already made five signings for the club. He has held onto some of the players who intend leaving and also still in the transfer window for a speculated signing of two more players before the close of the transfer window.
